Spine deformities can happen when an abnormal curvature occurs, such as scoliosis, kyphosis or Scheuermann’s disease. It also occurs due to a defect or damage to the spine. Deformities do not normally cause pain, unless a structure restricts movement or puts pressure on the nerves in the spinal canal.

Diagnosis of a Spine Deformity
Your physician will do a careful review of your medical history and a complete physical and neurologic assessment. Your physician should obtain standing posteroanterior and lateral radiographs of your spine, in order to to arrive at an accurate diagnosis of the cause of the spinal deformity.
